I rolled all 6 exclamation points and have the King. The circle shows up on the track with 2 arrows, an orientation circle arrow, and a icon for the opposite track. I have tried putting the token in each spot with both orientations and I keep getting the same error as the OP.

I also had The King and 6 exclamation points. I also had Antimatter Pellets.
Could not move or place a token. (Neither button worked and we had to abandon game.)
I am on an Android phone using the BGA app skin of Chrome. I used "click here" instead of F5, but it did not resolve.

Same here. King, six eclamation points, Antimatter Pellets, can't place token and the game won't continue.
