At the end of a multi-step turn, before an Eclipse, I checked to see that I had enough food to pay salaries. I did, so I chose points instead of food for an ascension bonus. However, the price for the main action had not been taken out of my stock yet, so I actually did NOT have enough food -- therefore I got 5 points, but will lose 9 when it comes time to pay salary.
It would be very helpful, especially in a game with multi-step turns like this, if the game info such as how much cocao you have were updated immediately and always up to date! -
