I believe it was appearing with the correct numbers recently - have only noticed this today, and sure it was working fine previously.
The number appears to be increasing correctly in the gamelog - for example boardgamearena.com/1/grosstarock?table=123078849 has correctly identified hand #3 as completing.

Ah - Yes, this is due to a change that was introduced in order to allow 4 players to sit at a table and play a three-player game, one player each hand sitting out. This changes the way the hand-counts are recorded against the target, and since your game was already started, it didn't have the new values added to the setup.
I will see if I can push in a "fix" that retains the new functionality while having your game report correctly again - but I am not sure if I will be able to.

I added a fix to bring existent games up to date - so your game should finish progressing as normal!
