Please can the pieces be identified in the game log as well, e.g.:
"[player 1] selects a piece - light, square, short, solid"
"[player 2] places the piece on 3, 3"
"[player 2] selects a piece - dark, round, tall, hollow"
"[player 1] places the piece on 1, 2"
etc.
This should be a very quick and easy change to make as you can just use the text that appears when a player hovers over a piece during gameplay. It will make the text game log much easier to read.
