Rule says "Gain 1 additionnal for each adjacent card in your family, WHETHER IT'S REVEALED OR NOT. If your Lord is adjacent to a stack of cards of your family, only the top card is taken into account."

I looked at both of those and they seemed correct. In the first case the Lord had one red card adjacent and scored 2 points (1 + 1 for red Conspiracy). It was similar in the second example.
