Welcome all to the new homepage of BGA's Biggest Team UP Event: United We Stand (UWS)
This is an exciting, large-scale, team-based board game competition held on BGA, where teams of 9 players battle across a variety of 4-player games to see who will be crowned the ultimate champion. Here's a brief overview of what UWS is all about and how you can get involved:
What is UWS?
- UWS is a unique, massive event that takes place twice a year on BGA. Teams of 9 players will face off against one another in several rounds, playing 4-player board games.
-The competition is split into different stages (Stage A & Stage B) where players earn points through their performance in individual games, contributing to their team's overall score.
-It's not just about the games—it's about teamwork, strategy, and having fun with fellow gamers from around the world. It’s a great chance to form lasting friendships, test your skills, and compete for glory!
How to Join
-Sign-Up: Registration for the event will open on August 2nd. There will be two chances to register: one at 4 am GMT (11 pm EST) and the second at 4 pm GMT (11 am EST).
-Team Assignment: If you don’t have a team, don’t worry! You will be placed on a team after registering. If you have a specific team in mind, reach out to the captain and see if they have space available.
-Availability: Since this is a long event (around 10 weeks), make sure you can commit the time. Each player needs to participate actively, playing several games over the course of the competition.
Event Format & Stages
1. Stage A:
- A 5-week tournament where teams compete in various 4-player games.
- Teams submit their game preferences and voting will determine which games are played.
- Players are assigned to specific games each round, and each team must participate in all of the selected games.
2. Stage B:
- A 2-week stage where teams are grouped based on their Stage A performance.
- 18 games will be played, and players will need to work together to secure as many points as possible.
Scoring
-Teams are awarded points based on their performance in individual games. The ranking is determined by the total points accumulated.
- Special games, like the Gold Game, are worth extra points.
