Dr CAlveole is a simple but very intriguing abstract strategy game. The aim of each player is to connect all their own pieces into a single united group before the opponent. 1box_6_561ddd06b868ce00
Dr CThe pieces move all the same way: they may move in any of the 6 directions, but the number of steps is given by the number of pieces (both yours and of your opponent) in the direction you want to move (both in front and behind). For example the red piece moved by 2 steps from the green square because in that direction there is one opponent stone (in blue) and, of course, itself.1token_1761ddd06fe646200box_0_12 3 token_2 16 token_17 2
Dr CAs in the previous move by Red the blue stone could move only by two steps in this direction for the same reason.1token_1761ddd07739b8f00
Dr CThe blue stone (see pointer) may move on its turn either on a blue or green cell.
Green cell are spaced two steps away from the blue piece because of the presence of the red stone higlighted in red.
The count of pieces is given by the moving piece itself plus all the pieces on that line on both directions.1box_16_461ddd07ad16d400box_8_8 3 box_10_5 2 box_12_4 2 box_12_8 2 box_14_7 2 box_16_4 3 token_2 1 token_17 16
Dr CAccording to the rule explained in the previous comment the blue piece highlighted in blue may move in any of the cells highlighted in green or red. But pieces cannot jump over the opponent's ones and cannot land on cells containing other pieces of the same colour. So if we want to move this piece the only option would be the cell highlighted in green.1box_16_861ddd09a635a500box_8_10 1 box_14_9 3 token_14 1 token_16 2
Dr CPieces may land on squares that contain opponent's pieces. Doing so they would capture them and remove them permanently from the game.
This may be useful to remove unwanted pieces, but be careful! The capture of a piece means also that the opponent will have less pieces to connect for the victory!1box_16_461ddd1134816a00box_12_10 3 token_9 1
Dr CNote about capturing.
If you leave your opponent with one single piece, they will automatically win, since all their stones would form a single group1box_16_461ddd12257f7400
Dr CStrategy Hint #1!
Try to put your pieces in the center since there it's easier to connect them. If possible create a barrier between one or more opponent's stones, like the blue one, using lines of yours (the three highlighted red ones).1box_12_861ddd1b24cf3500token_4 1 token_6 1 token_8 1 token_14 2
Dr CPieces cannot jump over an opponent's piece, but are allowed to jump over other pieces of the same color.
Pieces may also capture enemy pieces by landing on their cell, but are not allowed to do so with pieces of the same colour.
Here the red piece highlighted in red may jump to the green cell over the piece highlighted in blue1box_14_1361ddd2bee986a00box_8_8 3 token_1 1 token_5 2
Dr CStrategy Hint #2!
Your pieces may be used to block or limit the movement of the opponent's ones. In this case a red piece (see pointer) is prevented by a blue one (in blue) to join the others in the center (red cell) . 1box_0_1261ddd31be978a00box_6_7 1 token_7 16 token_15 2
Dr CStrategy Hint #3!
The same red stone is also isolated from the others, so it is slowed down and may to move just by one step in the two remaining directions in the cells highlighted in green. This may make harder to connect it with the others later.1box_16_461ddd33437e0b00box_12_2 3 box_16_4 3 token_7 16
Dr CStrategy Hint #4!
Pieces may block the movements from other pieces also by far away: by changing its movement to a paricular direction into an illegal move. In this case the two highlighted blue stones are preventing the red one (pointer) to move in their direction1box_16_1261ddd3ab02b7500token_5 16 token_15 2 token_16 2
Dr CStrategy Hint #5!
A single piece (in blue) can block the movement in a direction of an entire line of enemy pieces (in red) by staying on one of its extremities without being threatened to be captured. The same is true for two opposing pieces near each other.

Dr CThe Blue player is now threatening to win next move if Red does not find a way out. Can you see how?1box_16_1261ddd4424b66e00
Dr CIf Red did not capture that piece, Blue would have won by moving the highlighted blue stone to the green cell.1box_0_1261ddd44ac124600box_10_7 3 token_15 16
Dr CThe blue pieces form a single united group!
Blue wins!1box_14_961ddd5406431800
