ClutronWelcome to the Kingdomino tutorial! Kingdomino is a domino style game where you are trying to create the largest areas with crowns in them to score points. Whoever has the most points at the end is the winner! Let's get to the table.1current_domino_space_3

ClutronOver here is your player area, this is where we will build out your kingdom of dominos. You will start out building adjacent to your castle, and slowly expand from there until you have a kingdom 5 squares wide and 5 squares tall. Each domino you will place is made up of two squares.2castle

ClutronOver here are the dominos you will choose from. There are six kinds of terrain: -forests -lakes -grain fields -mines [the black tiles] -marshes [the brown tiles] -fields of grass Making areas of the same type of terrain with crowns on them is how you will score points.3domino_46

ClutronYou can always click on this button here to see a full list of how many squares (not tiles) of each terrain there are in the game. Just above this button is a countdown of how many tiles are left in the game, as well as the number of turns left. For a standard game there are *12 turns*.4dominoesListButton

ClutronLet's go ahead and pick our first tile. Choose this top double forest tile.5domino_6

ClutronNow that we all have our tokens out, we place our tiles, and pick our next tile in the order of our pawns going from top to bottom. As a general rule of thumb, the tiles that have more crowns on them tend to be lower in the turn order, so you have to balance between going early, or getting a more valuable tile.1current_dominoes_spaces

ClutronLet's place our first tile. Look at the image below and place the forest tile so it is oriented exactly as shown. Selecting your next tile validates the move, so you don't have to click Validate at the top.2icon_point_88393020

ClutronBefore we play, let's look at this player's area. They have a lake that is 3 squares in size, and has 1 crown on it. Each continuous area of terrain you have at the end of the game is worth the number of adjacent squares of that terrain, multiplied by the number of crowns in that area. So 3 x 1 = *3 points* for this lake. Every area with crowns scores, even if the same terrain already scored elsewhere.1other_players_kingdoms

ClutronNext, let's talk about restrictions on placing your tiles. When placing tiles you have to have at least one of the two squares on the tile adjacent to the same terrain. So for our lake/forest tile, it has to have either the lake square placed next to a lake, or the forest square placed next to a forest. The one exception is the castle, you can place anything next to the castle.2domino_6

ClutronSo let's place our next tile. Orient and place it exactly like the picture below and then pick the second tile in the next row, the tile with *grass and a two crown marsh*, to finish out turn. [img]https://snipboard.io/mvQwan.jpg[/img]3icon_point_88393020

ClutronThe last thing about placement to learn is about the arrows on the tile. These arrows allow you to rotate the tile one way or the other. This is important because while BGA will rotate the tiles for you to make placement valid, the way the system rotates it is not always the best.1domino_44

ClutronLet's place that tile according to the picture once more (using the arrows to rotate), and then pick the last tile in the next column, *a grassland and one crown marsh*, to complete our turn. [img]https://snipboard.io/H4w0gR.jpg[/img]2icon_point_88393020

ClutronAnd that's it! You will keep placing tiles and picking tiles until the supply is exhausted. If you placed your tiles well you should have a full 5x5 kingdom with no gaps. However, if you ever can't place a tile you will have to discard it, losing any chance for points, but also keeping other players from using it as well. So place well and plan ahead to score the most points.1domino_45

ClutronAnd finally, let me mention the two additional options you can enable when creating a table: *Middle Kingdom* - this variant gives bonus points for having the castle in the center of your finished kingdom *Harmony* - this variant gives you bonus points for having a completely filled 5x5 kingdom at the end of the game3domino_45
