This first space gets you wood, and also allows you to plow a field and cultivate land for pasture. The arrows on certain cards show that the indicated resource accumulates each round. theAudsMustBeCrazyThis space gives you stone and lets you excavate areas in your cavern. You will get a two-space tile, one side is a tunnel, and one is a cavern. If you want a mine, it will have to be placed on a tunnel. If you want a room, it has to be placed on a cavern. You can't build rooms or tunnels without Drift Mining or Excavation (or looting - but we'll get to that later). The cave must be prepared!8ActionDriftMining000

theAudsMustBeCrazy Regular Harvest (like at the end of this round) goes like this: 1) The top vegetables and grains come off of your fields and go into your personal supply. They can be eaten or replanted. 2) FEED YOUR DWARVES. They eat 2 food each. You get a begging card for each food you are short. theAudsMustBeCrazyOnce you have a field (brown square with lines), you can sow grains and vegetables. On each field, you can sow 1 grain or 1 vegetable. If you sow a grain, 2 grains grow (are placed on top of it immediately). If you sow a vegetable, 1 vegetable grows on top. You are allowed to sow up to 2 grains and 2 vegetables during this work phase, as long as you have enough plowed fields.18ActionSlash000
theAudsMustBeCrazyThe other side of the tile is a meadow. Sheep can stay on your meadow without fences as long as you have enough dogs to control them. You can keep one more sheep than there are dogs on a meadow. Otherwise your sheep will run away. For example, 4 dogs can watch 3 sheep.19ActionClearing000
theAudsMustBeCrazyFor all other farm animals, you will need to build fences to contain them on your land. Or they can live in certain, specified rooms in your house (cave). theAudsMustBeCrazyAnother way you can hold animals is with stables. The GENERAL rules for holding animals are: One fenced square (small pasture) can hold 2 animals. Two squares together, fenced, (large pasture) can hold 4 animals. A stable doubles the occupancy of a pasture. E.g., a large pasture with a stable can hold 8 animals. The strength of your weapon determines the quality of the loot. So, a "10" weapon earns you a cow, whereas a "2" weapon can only get you a sheep. Caverna Tour

Welcome to Caverna on BGA. I'm here to give you a tour of the interface, to make sure you'll enjoy your games to the fullest.
Let's start with this panel next to your name: a very handy toolbox.
  • round number: the last revealed action card is also highlighted in yellow on the board
  • my face: open this tour if you need it later
  • the switch will allow to toggle the safe/help mode: when enabled, clicking will do nothing, and instead will open tooltips on any elements with a question mark on it, making it sure you won't misclick
  • settings: this implementation comes with a lot of ways to customize your experience to your needs. Take some time to play with them until you're comfortable
  • the star calendar: details of live scores (only if corresponding game option was enabled)
  • the ruby helper: a reminder of all the possible exchanges using ruby in Caverna
  • the loot helper: a helpsheet of all the possible loots during an expedition
  • special harvest tracker: keep track of the passed and future harvest events. Hover on this line to have a reminder of the event behavior
This is the central board where you take your actions. It consists of these parts:
  • Primary action card spaces: available at the start of the game, depends on the number of players
  • Action space cards: one card is revealed at the start of each round. They are organized in 4 stages, randomized within each stage (the question mark on the round numbers preview the possible action space cards.) On the right of each card, a harvest token is here to remind you what will happen at the end of that round: hover on the token to have some precision.
Where are all the buildings?
On the very bottom left on your screen, you will find these buttons.
Click on any of them to open the buildings tabs:
Buildings are organized into four board, following physical components. Click on another button to navigate from one category to another, and click the X to close that tab once you are done.
You can always check a building details by hovering on it to see the tooltip, or by clicking on it to display a little modal with building details. This also work for buildings on player boards.
This is your personal board. Here you can build tunnels, caverns, mines, meadow, pastures, stables, plow field or furnish buildings.
These player panels contain a lot of useful information!
  • Top section: resources and food in personal supply.
  • Middle section: animals currently on farm, and actions remaining.
  • Bottom section: on the right, a reminder that each player can only have up to 3 stables! On the left, a summary of current status for the player's dwarfs, details below.
Dwarfs on the left are placed on action board already; dwarfs in the middle are on the player's board, waiting to be placed, dwarfs on the right are potential children (according to player's current dwellings capacity) you might get if you take a "Wish for Children" action. Don't forget that each player can only have 5 dwarfs at maximum (except by playing a special dwelling)!
The number after the / in your food reserve is a reminder of how much food the player currently needs for the next harvest, based on current public information.
In Caverna, cooking animals and seed can be a crucial step to provide the food you need to feed your people.
All resource conversions happens in this window: just click on the exchanges you want to make before hitting "Confirm".
If you need to make an exchange, just click on the left button to open the previous modal (button is only present if you can do at least one exchange).
Similarly, if you have at least one ruby, the button on the right will be displayed. Click on it to open the ruby modal and click on the exchange you want to make with your ruby(ies)
Whenever you obtain animals, you must immediately accomodate them in your farm or cook them (except for dogs that can wander around)
Most of the time, the game will automatically accommodate your animals in the best spot ever. However, you may also arrange them manually by either changing the "automatic" setting or by clicking this button:
Click on the small arrows that pop up in your pastures, stables, buildings, meadows (if you have dogs) to choose how your animals should be arranged.
These controls will clear all, decrease, increase, or maximize a specific animal type in each of your pastures/stables/buildings/meadows.
No code is error-free. Before reporting a bug, please follow the following steps.
  • If the issue is related to a building, please use the english name.
  • If your language is not English, please check the English building description. If there is an incorrect translation to your language, please do not report a bug and use the translation module (Community > Translation) to fix it directly.
  • For rules-related bugs, please double-check the rulebook before reporting to make sure you have it correct.
  • When you encounter a bug, please refresh your page to see if the bug goes away. Knowing whether or not a bug is persisting through refresh or not will help us find and fix it, so please include that in the bug report!
