TheBoardBaker[green]*In Gift of Tulips, tulip enthusiasts explore Amsterdam’s Tulip Festival to build colorful bouquets and give tulips to their friends.*[/green] *Each turn players choose 2 of 3 actions:* - Players choose between building up their bouquet to try and score major points in the Tulip Festival - Giving tulips to other players to get points immediately - Placing tulips in the Tulip Festival to vote for the winning tulip type. (This includes the Secret Festival)2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

TheBoardBaker[green]*These are our Tulip cards!*[/green] There are 4 flower types (Purple, Blue, Yellow, and White), each with their own point value ranging from 2-4 shown in the top right corner of the card.3hand

TheBoardBaker[green]*This is the Festival!*[/green] We will be adding Tullip cards here to influence the ranking. The tulip color that currently has the most total points will be in first place and the color with the least points in last place. The ranking determines how many points you will get for various the actions during the game: <Gifting icon> (Outstretched Hand) When gifting a tulip of the color below this festival card, you receive the listed amount of points plus the value of the tulip <Keeping icon> (Hand Holding Flower) When keeping this color of tulip in your Bouquet, you receive the listed number of points (only for 3rd and 4th ranked tulips)” <Majority icon >(Trophy) If you have the most tulips in your bouquet at the end of the game, you receive the listed amount of points. Note there is also a Secret Festival of to the left that we will explain in more detail later. 4festival_wrap

TheBoardBaker*To begin the game you must choose one card to add to [blue]your bouquet.[/blue] The other card will be added to the [green]Secret Festival[/green].* When playing your first card, you have the option of moving it to your Bouquet *OR* gifting it *OR* moving it to the festival (normal or secret) and that they cannot perform the same action with their second card. Five tulips will be randomly revealed from the Secret Festival Deck and added to the Festival at the end of the game. This can influence the order of the tulips under the Festival cards. [blue]*Click on the Blue Tulip to add it to our Bouquet*[/blue]6hand

TheBoardBaker[green]*Scoring our Bouquet.*[/green] These cards will determine how much you score at the end of the game. You immediately score points for adding tulips to your bouquet if that tulip is currently ranked 3rd or 4th. The Keeping points are listed on the Festival card on the bottom right.8card_47_front

TheBoardBaker*Ok! Now we have some cards to work with!* The next card up is a White tulip. Looking over at the [green]Festivals[/green] the White tulips are in 2nd place, so adding this card to our competitors hand will give us 2 bonus points + 4 face value points = 6 pts. [blue]*Click on the highlighted White tulips in our competitors bouquet to add them.*[/blue]1card_back_card_32_back

TheBoardBaker*Now for our second card!* Our competitor doesn't have any in their bouquet, it's not listed in the Festivals yet, and we have one in our hand. *Let's get the Blue Festival going.* [tip] We could also choose to add this Blue tulip to the Secret Festival, to modify the final tulip ranking. We know we have at least one Purple tulip in the Secret Festival currently [blue]*Click on the empty Festival space to add it.*[/blue]1card_back_card_45_front

TheBoardBakerNow notice how it got bummed up into 2nd place. The face value of the card in higher than the Yellow and since its the newest addition even though there is a tie (with White) it defers to the newest. As more cards are added, the total values of the stacks will be ranked in descending order.1card_back_card_45_front

TheBoardBakerOur turn again! Let's start an Yellow pile in our bouquet! [blue]*Click on our empty space.*[/blue]185669515_bouquet_stack_3_wrap

TheBoardBakerNow let's add to our opponent's White bouquet. This will gain us 3 face value points + 1 bonus point for being in 3rd place. [blue]*Click on the White bouquet.*[/blue]1card_back_card_46_front

TheBoardBaker[green]*Play continues in this manner until the entire deck is played though.*[/green] Notice [blue]above[/blue] that we still have 40 cards left. [red]*Final Scoring*[/red] After all the cards have been played, five random tulip cards from the Secret Festival will be added to the Festival to influence the tulip rankings. Points are then awarded for each tulip color to the player who has the most of them in their bouquet. In case of a tie, the player with the highest total value for that color receives the points. *The player with the most points after final scoring wins the game!* In the case of a tie, the player with the most tulips in their Bouquet wins.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

Also the tulip colors are listed as Purple, Blue, Orange, and Pink. The color names have been mortified for this tutorial to be consistent with the older BGA version/replay notes.
