AletothethiefWelcome to BONSAI! Players take on the role of expert bonsai masters intent on growing their own bonsai. Whoever grows the best plant will be appointed to show their bonsai at the Imperial Gardens.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AletothethiefThe game is played in turns in clockwise order, starting with the first player. On your turn, choose and perform one of these two actions: MEDITATE or CULTIVATE. Then check if you can claim a GOAL tile. After performing the action, and eventually claiming a GOAL tile, your turn ends and pass to the next player in clockwise order.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

AletothethiefThis area is where the GOAL tiles are displayed. There are 5 groups of goals but only 3 will be chosen at random for each game. Once you have reached certain conditions for each type of card you can then claim it. 4bon_tree-host-92940970

AletothethiefAt the start of the game, you only have your Seishi tile to place bonsai tiles. The 3 icons at the top shows it allows you to place one tile of your choice, and/or one WOOD tile, and/or one LEAF tile during a CULTIVATE action, in any order. Aletothethief....it will be placed here on the right, allowing you to place an additional tile for every card when you CULTIVATE. The icon depicted is the new tile you can now place.9bon_seishi-rhs-92940970

AletothethiefYour Seishi tile also shows in the middle the number 5 which is the maximum amount of tiles that you can keep in your supply. If you have more than 5 tiles at the end of your turn, then you must discard tiles of your choice until you have 5. You can extend this limit by acquiring Tool cards......10bon_seishi-92940970

AletothethiefOnce your tree starts to take shape, check back with the GOAL tiles to see if you are close to claiming. It looks like if the tree is continued past the right side with the golden crack then this GOAL tile can be claimed.1bon_tree-host-92940970

AletothethiefWhen ready to claim a GOAL tile, you will be given the choice to RENOUNCE the tile. This is in case if you want to try for a harder goal. As you are only able to claim 1 GOAL tile of each color. Once RENOUNCED you can not CLAIM it again, even if you meet the criteria2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment
