nalkaIn Nirds vs Gnomes, all players are on the Nirds' side and fight together against [blue]the Gnomes[/blue]. Are you ready to get rid of these [blue]Gnomes[/blue]?2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaLet's start the first round. At the beginning of each round, players roll all their dice then the first phase starts: the *trading phase*. During this phase, players may determine who will be the first player for the round and exchange dice.3bga-die-die-4-face-5

nalkaWhen exchanging dice, we may do as many exchanges as we want, but we always give and receive a single die per exchange. Let's try to trade a dice with our friend. Select our 6 then their 4.4bga-die-die-4-face-5

nalkaAs you can see, this created the exchange offer, now it's up to our friend to accept or reject it. If they create exchange offers of their own, they will also appear in this list and it'll be up to you to accept or reject it. This is also the place where you can ask to become first player (to the left of the exchange offer). [green][tip] If you change your mind after creating an exchange offer, you can retract it by clicking the bin icon.[/green]1trade-3

nalkaDuring this phase, you may also assign dice to your cards, this has no consequences and can be undone. It's just here to help you prepare your turns. For example, let's assign our 4 to Assistant. Click our 4 then click Assistant.1bga-die-die-7-face-4

nalkaI think we don't want to exchange more dice so let's move on to the next phase! You'd normally click "I'm done !" at the top if the tutorial wasn't buggy but since it is, I'll do it for you.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaNow it's time for the *Action phase*. This is the main phase of the game. During this phase you may attack, recruit or play tactic cards. Let's start with attacking, getting rid of these [blue]Gnomes[/blue] is what we're here for after all!1card-6

nalkaTo attack, we use [green]attack Nirds[/green]. At the bottom of its card, you can see the required dice to activate it. Let's keep Assistant as an example. It needs you to use a 4 to be activated, good thing our friend exchanged one with us!2card-6

nalkaSelect the 4 we put on Assistant earlier then click "Attack".3card-6

nalkaWhen attacking, every die used to activate the [green]attacking Nird[/green] will be rolled and can then be used to deal damage to ANY Gnome. Here, we rolled a 2. This means we can deal 2 damage to any [blue]Gnome[/blue]. We also benefit from Lieutenant Wompins's passive ability, increasing the damage dealt by our Nirds by 1 for a total of 3 damage.1bga-die-die-7-face-2

nalkaA [blue]Gnome[/blue]'s health is represented by the number in its top-left corner. When it comes to the ones facing us, this means they respectively have 2 and 4 health. I'd like to kill the 4 health [blue]Gnome[/blue] facing us but 3 damage isn't enough...2bga-die-die-7-face-2

nalkaLet's ask Techie (our yellow Nird) for some help! Yellow Nirds are scientists, they help us by manipulating our dice. Our Techie, for example, can change a 2 or 3 into a 4! Make sure the 2 on Assistant is selected (you may need to unselect then reselect it) then click our Techie. [green][tip] Scientists can also be used during the trade phase, this is the only way to (indirectly) use them on your friend's dice[/green]3card-6

nalkaNow we can deal 5 damage (4 + Wompins's passive), which is enough to kill our 4 health [blue]Gnome[/blue]. As you can see in the middle of its card, killing that Gnome will give us an extra die. Let's get it, click that Gnome!1bga-die-die-7-face-4

nalkaYou'd normally have to confirm by clicking "Attack!" in the top bar but you know, tutorial bugs :) Congratulations, you dealt with your first Gnome!1gameaction_status

nalkaHere comes our die for killing the Gnome! As you can see we can't use it yet. It will become available by the start of the next round.2bga-die-die-9

nalkaAs you also probably noticed, our Assistant and Techie are now flipped, this means we already used them during this round and can no longer use them until the next round. Since we made our action, it's our friend's turn. Let's watch them play.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaThey recruited Astronomer! Recruiting sounds like a good idea for us too, let's see how this works. See the purple "Market" button on the left? Click it to display the available Nirds then continue.1market-title

nalkaWhen recruiting, we can use some of our unused dice to buy available Nirds, the bottom row is level 1 Nirds, the top row is level 2 Nirds. Level 2 Nirds work the same as level 1 and starter Nirds, they're just more expensive and more powerful. The cost of a Nird is represented by the number on the egg in its top-left corner.2market-title

nalkaFor example, Gnooch (the rightmost one on the bottom row) costs 5. This means, if we want to buy it, we'd have to use dice that sum up to at least 5. We have available 5s, perfect to pay Gnooch's price, let's buy this one! Click it, click our 5 on the left then click "Recruit".3market-title

nalkaAs you can see, it joined our Nirds but is flipped. Just like the die we earned while killing the Gnome, Nirds you buy are usable by the next round. Gnooch comes with an effect that triggers when it's recruited, allowing us to deal 2 damage to any Gnome. 2 damage huh? Great, that's exactly the health of this Underpants Gnome facing us, let's kill it! Click it! 1card-14

nalkaThis time the reward for getting rid of that Gnome is the ability to put one of our die on the number we want, let's change our 3 to a 6. Click our 3 then click "6" on the top bar.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaAlright, our only unused Nird is Lieutenant Wompins but it'd need a 2 to be activated and we don't have one, this means the only thing we can do is recruiting. We have a 6 and a 5 this means we can buy Nirds that cost up to 11. Let's buy Wobbles, since it can be activated with any die, its flexibility will be handy in the future. Click Wobbles, our 6 and 5 (in this order), then "Recruit" on the top bar.1maintitlebar_content

nalkaSince we have no available die, we automatically passed. During their turn, our friend killed a Gnome that gave them a tactic card (the orange one). To know what they do, all you have to do is read them ;) For example, New Intel will let them deal 2 damage per scientist they own to a Gnome during the action phase, at *any* time. Let's move on to the next round.1card-119

nalkaAlright, our friend also used all their dice so, we're done with the *Action phase*! Before starting the next round, Gnomes that are still here will deal damage to the player facing them. Since we got rid of all Gnomes this round, no damage! [green][tip] Damage dealt by a Gnome is written at the bottom of its card.[/green]1gameaction_status_wrap

nalkaA new round started! When starting a new round, several things happen: • Every player receives new Gnomes until they have 2 Gnomes facing them. • If the Gnomes deck runs out of a level of Gnomes, you get a new die, up to a maximum of 8. • All flipped cards are unflipped. nalkaThen the usual 3 phases (trade, action, gnomes) take place again. Before leaving, I still have to explain a few things.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaAs the game progresses, the strength of Gnomes you face will increase. So far we only saw level Ɪ (visible on the bottom right corner of their card) Gnomes. As indicated on the Gnomes deck (below the players info panel on the right) the next Gnomes will be level Ɪ Ɪ Gnomes and 15 gnomes remain.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaOnce there aren't enough Gnomes in order to have 2 Gnomes in front of each player at the start of a round, all Gnomes are removed and you'll face a Boss. If you manage to defeat it, you all win!4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment

nalkaOn the other hand, if at any time, any player runs out of Nirds or lives (each player start with 3), you all lose the game!
