NekonyancerIn *Scratch & Catch,* players will take turns playing cards from their hand. The last card they play on their turn will allow them to either score cards on the table or discard *Flea tokens.* When one player discards all their Flea tokens or the deck runs out of cards to draw, [green]whoever has the most points wins![/green]2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerAt the beginning of the game, each player was dealt a [red]*hand of 4 cards*[/red] and a [blue]*bunch of Flea tokens.*[/blue] If you can't see them, you might need to *scroll down* a little. The number of Fleas we start with depends on the number of players: *22/20/18/16/15 Fleas* in a game with *2/3/4/5/6 players.*3maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerIn addition, BGA placed four random cards on the table and arranged them *in numerical order.* As you can see, BGA left plenty of space for cards of other numbers.4sc_card_front_11

NekonyancerOn our turn, we must play exactly *two cards* onto the table, one at a time. These cards can come from our hand, but if we don't have any good options, we can play random cards from the deck instead [blue](see arrow)[/blue].5sc_card_card_0

NekonyancerIn this case, I don't think the cards in our hand are any better than a random card would be, so let's play a card from the deck. *Click on the deck or on [blue]"Draw a card"[/blue] at the top!*6sc_card_card_75

NekonyancerIt turned out to be a *10!* It was automatically placed in the appropriate slot on the table. [green]That was our first card! We have to play one more.[/green]1sc_card_front_12

NekonyancerThe second card is much more important than the first. When the second card is played, the player will trigger a *bonus* depending on whether the card is the only one of its number on the table or not.2sc_card_front_12

NekonyancerFirst, I'll show you what happens when the second card is the only one of its number. *Click on the "9" in our hand to play it!*3sc_card_card_2

NekonyancerWhen the second card is the only one of its number on the table AND there is at least 1 card adjacent to it, it forms a *sequence,* allowing us to discard a number of Flea tokens equal to the *length* of the sequence. [green](Step 10/31)[/green]1sc_card_card_2

NekonyancerIn this case, there are no other 9s on the table, and there is an adjacent card (8 and 10), so we triggered a sequence bonus. This sequence is *4* cards long (7 8 9 10), so we can [green]discard 4 Flea tokens![/green]2sc_card_card_2

Nekonyancer[blue]That's it for our turn![/blue] At the end of our turn, we automatically draw cards from the deck until we have exactly *4* in our hand again.3sc_card_card_75

NekonyancerWe took a total of 2 cards. They did *not* go into our hand - instead, they were placed in our [blue]*inventory,*[/blue] face down. [green]Each one counts as 1 point at the end of the game![/green]2sc_card_back_15

Nekonyancer[red]That's not all![/red] Did you notice that our second card has a *disco ball* on it? That marks it as a special *Scratch* card!3sc_card_card_0

NekonyancerWhen a Scratch card is played as the *first* card on a turn, it doesn't do anything special. But when played as the *second* card, all opponents must take Flea tokens from the supply equal to the *size* of the *stack!*4sc_card_card_0

NekonyancerIn this case, there are *2* cards in the stack, so our opponent will gain *2* Flea tokens from the supply! [tip] If a Scratch card is the only one of its number on the table, it may trigger a Sequence bonus instead of a Stack bonus, but opponents will still gain 1 Flea token (there would be 1 card in the card's stack). NekonyancerWell, there are three *9* cards and a *7* card on the table. If we can play an *8* and trigger a *Stack* bonus, we'll get 4 cards. [green]That means 4 points![/green]2sc_card_front_6

NekonyancerBut to trigger a Stack bonus with an 8, there needs to be an 8 [red]already on the table.[/red] We would have to play a random card from the deck as our first card, hoping for an 8, after which we can play the 8 in our hand. [red]That's way too unlikely.[/red] :(3sc_zone_slot_8

NekonyancerThere's no reason to go for something like that when we can get an equally juicy Sequence with the 8 and 10 in our hand! *First, play the 8...*4sc_card_card_1

Nekonyancer*Great!* We triggered another Sequence bonus. There are 4 cards in the sequence, so we discarded 4 Flea tokens. And since our second card also had a Disco Ball, our opponent gained 1 Flea token.1sc_card_card_17

NekonyancerOkay, that's everything! [blue]The end of the game is triggered when...[/blue] • One player runs out of Flea Tokens. [blue]OR[/blue] • The deck runs out of cards. After one player triggers the end, all *other* players get one more turn. Then the game ends, and BGA counts up the points!2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerI already told you that each scored card is worth 1 point, but Flea tokens work a little differently. Each player gets a [green]positive[/green] or [red]negative[/red] Flea bonus, depending on how many Flea tokens they have left.
